  Steel pipe socket / pipe coupling is one of popular products because it has long life, corrosion resistance to high temperature and low temperature.It is one kind of couplings which connects to pipe by thread. And it can be further divided into two types: full coupling and half coupling. Full Coupling VS Half Coupling First of all, it has obvious difference on the size. The length of Half Coupling is half that of Full Coupling. Take ASME B16.11 1” SS 316 NPT Threaded Half and Full Coupling as an example. For the full coupling, the length of end to end is 60mm, so the half one is 30mm. But the NPT thread are in the same length of 14.7mm. Because the stainless steel threaded full coupling has thread at both ends while the threaded half coupling only has at one end , that leads to the second big difference between them. The second difference between them is threaded half coupling only can be connected by thread in one direction, while threaded full coupling can be connected in both directions. Stainless Steel Threaded Fittings are good in corrosion resistance and appearance. There are two pressure grades: 3000lb and 6000lb, the NPS of it are from 1/8 inch to 4 inch.
